Description
So, I've been working on this for a week and decided today, while doing the lighting, to simply finish it off in a rough fashion (I fist make a sketch and then colour it all in, lighting, shading and background come last). I'm quite happy with the resulting style of the character (Emperor Doviculus playing his Hydra guitar) and the edge the lighting gives to it, but I might return to this piece later and redo the background, which is simply a gradient fill and some lighting added.
Made this in GIMP using only a standard brush (and the gradient and the lighting filter for the background).
Reason for making this: simple practice plus I couldn't find any cool artwork of Doviculus (contrary to Eddie and Ophelia) so I decided to make something bad-assed for our bad-assed demon emperor. Hands up for Tim Curry and all people at Double Fine Entertainment.
Well, since I don't really know how to put the copyrights and everything correctly, I'll just say that this Character is property of Double Fine and/or EA (not sure about the exact rights reservation).
