The pose of the front character really makes this piece for me. You've successfully shown both behavioural and cosmetic hybrid, where many will only focus on cosmetics.

That is indeed a chimera. I have one as well, though it's nothing like this, except the humanoid form. Oh, and mine has wings, but they're... complicated. Nice job, BTW.

Beautiful imagination! I love the effects, the rendering, the idea, and even the ornamental wings. I find the composition interesting. The surrounding effect creates a nice feel but also "shallows" it a bit too much, almost flattening the overall piece. The stark reality of the subjects, their intense details, and lighting are kind of holding their own, but still seem to be fighting the background. The little one that appears to be materializing from the egg seems to be struggling hardest in the composition. Even with the background you have chosen, you might have had some of the darker areas extend behind it to help accentuate what is happening there.
Regardless, the aesthetic of this piece demands attention. Gorgeous!

the wings are too small, look at the small character their wings are much larger. they have length in size so it looks as if they can fly. those wings are long enough to touch the ankles while the larger figures extend to about the bottom of the back. i think it was just a spacing issue. other than that very nice work. i disagree on the dragon, in most lore they have hollowed out bones like most raptors allowing them to fly.

Realistically speaking, I would've made the wings bigger, but other then that...

why? for flight? all mythological creatures with wings only have them for show.
also, real birds with wings who cant fly: kiwi, emu, ostridge, penguin...

To my eye it just looks a little wrong. I once did a photomanip with a woman who had small wings... today I look at it and I think it's rather silly.
And no... Griffins fly, dragons fly, harpies fly, and if you are an atheist therefore making angels mythological, they fly as well. In future, please make sure you've studied your mythological creatures first before you say something silly. I will disregard that comment about real birds, because quite frankly that don't have anything to do with this discussion.

I know griffins fly, dragons fly, harpies fly and angels fly. But "realisticly speeking" they wouldnt be able to fly with the wings they have. Therefore there must be supernatural assistance involved. Ergo the wings are for show. To look cool, and mythical.

And that's fine, but if this sort of comment offends you don't ask for critique then?
I wasn't about to write a full out critique because quite honestly the image is great, there aren't any flaws, I just think it would've made for a more striking image if the wings were larger.
Or... is my opinion not welcome?
