...........This is what happens when I want to draw a trinket sword, a scabbard, a dragon, feathers, and drapery. I got a strange mix that turned out to be none of those. I reached the conclusion that this character is a feathered dragon priest, keeper of a magic sword, with a sense of humor (yep it's laughing at me!)

Then I had no better idea than try a new media, in this case, transparent gesso. Turns out the thing had so much tooth it might as well be named Shark Gesso. Painting on top of that with gouache turned out to be a pain, and soon I found myself unable to get defined strokes or to rework what was done already. So I scanned it...

...and it's been sitting on my drive for months. I would work on it occasionally, tweaking it, on and off. Today I say I'm done with it. I needed a break from my zodiac series (I still got four signs to go).
