Reverse caption:
The Feast of the Cherry Blossom. When this popular fête draws near, great preparations are made in places where the cherry trees flourish in profusion. Temporary tea-houses are erected in every available space, and hung with lanterns of cherry design, and coloured to harmonize with the prevailing tints of the blossoms, and even the cakes and sweetmeats, to accompany the cups of tea, are in the shape of cherries.

This brings back the memories...my family attended the "Cherry Blossom Festival" at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo from 59-61. Good times!

Very beautiful scene! Again, "western imagination" is working... (signs!)   ...but the picture is really nice!
By the way, more than tea, the "sake" flowed...

Aw, are the signs gibberish? (I am not surprised.)

Sake to me baby!
