Postmark Birmingham, Ala.
Southern Railway's most famous named passenger train, The Southerner. Southerner was a "streamliner" — a streamlined passenger train. It operated from 1941 to 1970 between New York City and New Orleans, Louisiana, via Washingtron DC, Atlanta and Birmingham.
