Iris is the Greek goddess (or personification) of the rainbow which connects the world of the gods with humanity. She is, with Hermes, the messenger of the Olympian gods. She is often described as the handmaiden and personal messenger of Hera. As messenger to the gods, she travels at the speed of the wind from one side of the world to the other, down to the ocean’s depths and to the underworld. Iris is portrayed in different ways: sometimes as a rainbow, but also as a young woman with wings.Adobe Illustrator
