Description Taken in South Buffalo, New York. The main streets of South Buffalo are a perfect example of a route through time. It shows the city and all of it's glory, yet also shows it's descent from it's pinnacle to it's low point. Buffalo used to be one of the greatest cities in the United States. At one time, it was the tenth biggest city in the United States, and one of the top 100 biggest cities in the world. Now, it's number 72 in the United States for population, the 8th most violent, and the 3rd poorest. It's fall was one that was well recorded throughout the years, with the skeletons of once proud factories and the remains of once bustling meeting spots, once a place of happiness and unity, now a barren and depressed shell. Buffalo has seen it all and the streets record it. The dark times the city has faced will always remain as scars running through the city's bloodstream, which are the streets and roads that curve and swerve through it's core to it's extremities.

It's all a matter of statistics and where you are. Buffalo only has an average of 125 homicides a year, or around that number. I've lived on it's good and bad sides as well. So long as you are in the suburbs, you should be good. It may have it's issues, but it is far better than many places around the world. I can be thankful for that at least.

Yeah, it's a vice that many people have, and it is sad to see how it tears communities apart.

Very good text. It feels as if I read about my hometown Offenbach. Okay Offenbach never was very big, but all the rest of the text sound very familiar for me.

I try to tell the city's story through these pictures. Some are happier stories, but others are sadder. My city is slowly rebounding, but I hope it is not too late. I suppose the story isn't unique, but I tell it nonetheless since it is my hometown, and I wish to spread knowledge of it.

I understand very well, so do I. It's the reason I upload pictures of my hometown.

It is good to do so. Knowledge of an issue is one of the most important tools people can have. I hope to help my city any way I can, but for now, I can do this. It at least spreads awareness. It is good you do the same, it makes it so that the issue is at least known. Good luck with your pictures!
