Yes. It definitely stands as its own film. It's not just to cash in, and it is hilarious and heartwarming

It's really good! It's not perfect, there is probably something to pick at, but it didn't take you out of film. It was more the feeling of I will probably notice something when I see it more times, but for a first viewing I just loved it! The only thing I can point at is Hank. Super funny, but you don't learn much about him. He's just sort of there to transport Dory around, and he has bad memories of the ocean. Not that we get to know what those are or anything, which is a bit of a tease with no follow up. But all in all definitely worth the price of admission. I would be tempted to go and wathc it again, if it wasn't because there is only one fricking showing of it in English, and the rest is bad, bad dubbed Danish!! How dare they dub a children's film!!

Oh yea, Danes were good at it once. Brilliant even, won prices and everything. But the newer films sounds like people are just reading aloud form the script. No passion, no drive, just doing their job. >

Oh, god. I hate those. See, dubs for me are English, of course, and usually anime. I love Hetalia dubs because the accents are so perfect and there's such enthusiasm- you can tell the voice people are enjoying their job.
But then there's ones like Naruto where the voices killed it for me...
English dubs are hit-or-miss >:l

Yea, at least they have enough people that it is not the same people over and over again. We have so few good actors in Denmark because we are such a small country, and the good ones just leave to better places like Hollywood. 
I usually also end up seeing dubs at some point when it comes to anime. I prefer subs, but I am a slow reader, so sometimes I need to see the dub to actually figure out what the plot was all about. Sucks hen the voice work is poorΒ Β

See, I much prefer dubs to subs, if only because I get distracted by the words and then miss something in the actual movie. Heh. I freakin' hate subs.
But sometimes subs are better when the dub is just so bad...

Yea, when I watched Gurren Lagann I watched the dub, simply because then I could enjoy the pictures better, because damn that animation!! *drools*

A tribute to the shounen genre made by Gainax. It's EPIC! And the animation is pure porn, it's that amazing xDΒ
To sum up, it's about these two boys Kamina and Simon, who lives underground, but breaks free when a giant mecha crashes through the ceiling, and they start their journey, with giant mecha faces runing on FIGHTING SPIRIT!!!!! You have to watch it!!! I cannot describe the epic insanety that is Gurren Lagann! It has to be experienced! It's not very long, about two seasons, and every episode is driving the plot forward in new directions. It's probably going to become a classic. I hope so at least xD

Heh, it's probably also only used by me and friends. We call it animation porn when it's just so good and satisfying to look at. Like the scene in Atlantis where Kida is taken by the crystal, or Β the flying scene in The Rescuers Down Under, or the League of Legends music videos.Β

YES! It was really good! If I looked for it i could propably find some flaws, but who cares! It was so heartfelt and awesome, and funny! I had really been afraid that it would b a cashin for Finding Nemo, but boy was I thankfully wrong!
