It's more manaborne stuff
A while back I designed the Manaborne ability, which represented the fact that Elementals were literally made of mana. This is probably one of the better ones I made. In fact, I'm surprised I haven't posted it till now.
It's pretty simple. It's a blue creature that lets you extended-tap a creature when it dies. Death-cast triggers work pretty well with Manaborne, because you get some of the mana you need to cast it. But if you have no need of the death-cast ability, you can use the mana for something else.
Doesn't quite work as well as a combat trick, since by the time it dies in combat, it's already too late to tap something. But it works well as a delaying tactic.
Since it's a common, it doesn't do too much by itself. It's main purpose is to communicate the theme to the audience, and the theme here is the Manaborne mechanic and how to use it. Which I think this card does nicely as a solo package.
