I keep putting your face onstrangers
engineering proximity
adjusting
the softness
of the room
.
but I know it's
harder
where you are
floors shift
and shadows cling
fog tries to
swallow
everything
vultures
cultivate
your silence
and exhaustion
won't be soothed
and I
I would push back the dark
I would give you my hands
I'd dismantle the sky so
you've more room to grow
I'd steady the earth
where you stand

i really, really like this but i'm not entirely sure i'm sold on vultures cultivating anything. from what i know, they don't really grow anything--they just take and hack away at the dead (or what will be dead). i like the concept i think you're going for -- is it something like how vultures know that something is dead/will die and they're there? like they're there for the "you" character's silence in this poem? if so, i'm not sure if cultivate is the best word choice here. but let me know what your intention was. i may be off!

It’s no worries! I am a little delayed myself, in responding. I’ve been working almost full-time, and now I’m on vacation. So I’ve been busy, and dA isn’t my top priority.
That’s quite alright! It’s just a suggestion, but if there’s something about the situation you’re describing that calls for the word, then well you’re the writer.

Thank you. I never did NaPoWriMo. Tiger--eyes did (and fucking shredded it) and decided
she wanted to continue on with a poem a day, and she kindly let me join her. It's been hard
to find the words some days, but I've really been enjoying the overall experience.
Anyway, that's why all the posting. Haha.
