The houses I like them best in, I think they fit best in these Houses. Plus, I'm a sucker for a forbidden friendship between Sherlock and John because they're a Slytherin and Gryffindor.

All of them totally fit! Especially Molly as a Hufflepuff. Though I think it would be an interesting idea for her friends thinking she shouldn't like Sherlock so much because he's a Slytherin. And speaking of Sherlock in Slytherin, that is perfect!

Nah, John's totally a Hufflepuff. For a while there, I might've gone for Gryffindor, but after Reichenbach... *sniffle*

Uh, how did FALL change your feelings on him being in Gryffindor? He still LIVES for danger. Sherlock provided that danger for him, so they were close. Loyalty isn't strictly a Hufflepuff characteristic - look at the loyalty most of the Gryffindors had for Harry in the books. If anything, FALL reinforced my idea that John's in Gryffindor rather than Hufflepuff.
It also reinforced my idea that /Lestrade/ was in Hufflepuff, like I originally thought.

Loyalty? Apart from Hermione and the Weasleys, the Gryffindors pretty much followed the rest of the school when they were having one of their "we hate Harry!" periods. Even Ron, his best friend, turned on him at one point out of jealousy, and then abandoned him in the last book, albeit briefly. Can you see John Watson doing that?
Also, Ron & Hermione stuck by him in the fifth book because they *knew* he was telling the truth. John's loyalty didn't waver even when he had reason to doubt Sherlock during "The Reichenbach Fall".

Hm...Hufflepuffs are just, loyal, and hardworking. Gryffindors are brave, and - if you look at the past two generations of Gryffindors, between the Golden Trio and three true Marauders, loyal.
...Why must you people have such good arguments? I used to be in the Raven!lock club, but then I read the argument for Sherlock in Slytherin.
But I'm glad we've put Lestrade in Hufflepuff. That's a good place for him.

Haha, yeah. I think Gryffindor loyalty is closer to personal relationships rather than overall. John was loyal to Sherlock and his team in the Army, but Lestrade has so many loyalties - Sherlock, the Met, London, justice, his team. He juggles all these responsibilities and is true to himself, but John is more of the go-getter type, which made me love FALL even more since it showed all of these.
Lestrade is such a good badger. ;w;

Yeah, John is extremely loyal but only to Sherlock and later Mary. Plus, he seeks and craves danger and opportunities to be brave, which is like a Gryffindor; Hufflepuffs can probably be brave occasionally when necessary but John's brave most of the time. Interesting that you sort Lestrade in Hufflepuff, generally I see him in Gryffindor.

FALL was amazing, and I can't wait to see what Sherlock's done now. Can't wait for their reaction when he comes back.

Me either! Well, I like Tom Felton, but he isn't technically a Slytherin. I've always been a Gryffindor lover. But it's Sherlock, and Slytherin fits him too well.

For one, Molly must be extremely smart, and that's just not a major Hufflepuff trait (I apologize to all Hufflepuff fans). Another: she just has a huge crush on Sherlock, it doesn't mean she's like that with everybody. I don't know, I just think it's hard to put her in a House because we only see her for one or two scenes.

I mainly got that she's Hufflepuff from this: [link] It's her 'official' blog created by the makers of the show. xD;

It's kind of my head canon that Mycroft would go into the Ministry... As much as I want him to be the minister, I'm not sure how much he would like being in the spotlight. He would probably pick up a 'minor role in the ministry' whilst actually ruling it from the shadows. xD That's how he rolls.
Oh, definitely. He's incredibly intelligent, but especially with that first episode? 'You're dying, but there's still time to hurt you!' Chilling, powerful and profitable despite others' pain. xD Thank you so much!

So where are you going to put Irene when she makes an appearance? Absolutely gorgeous work my dear! Sherlock should be a Slytherin, and there was never a better Gryffindor than John Watson. Absolutely love it!

Youko-Sway In reply to TheInscrutableHolmes [2011-01-29 17:30:44 +0000 UTC]
It absolutely depends, really. I'm going by canon, so I won't even talk about the movie Irene Adler, but Irene is smart, gorgeous and talented. She also doesn't mind defying the rules, but doesn't really go through with any crimes. She did blackmail the King of Bohemia briefly, ultimately giving him for love and running off to marry Norton. She's witty, clever and an adventuress... so I would probably put her in Gryffindor, but she could be a Ravenclaw, depending.
Thank you so much! Yeess, John would be boss in Gryffindor and Sherlock would be the House-defying Slytherin. It would be an awesome bromance.

Youko-Sway In reply to TheInscrutableHolmes [2011-01-31 04:59:07 +0000 UTC]
It would have been fine to me if she were more of an original character. I have a problem with people picturing Irene as a sort of slutty, gold-digging thief rather than a high-class, kind, talented opera singer. Hell, I would've been much happier if Mary had been the leading role. @w@
It wasn't TOO actiony on that scale... there were a couple of fight scenes and tense moments, but not climbing to the top of buildings and arresting people nor explosions. I do recall in The Final Problem that Holmes fled Baker Street by rooftop, but that was it...
Oh, you should watch more Granada! I haven't finished the entire series myself (I'm too much of a pansy to go beyond the episode before FINA), but it's really rather magnificent. Jeremy Brett is the best Holmes by far. The first episode is actually A Scandal in Bohemia and I love Irene. xD

DANG! I knew I forgot someone. To be a prestigious banker like that, he has to be Slytherin... you know he didn't really give a crap about Sherlock, he just knew he liked mysteries and would actually work on his, even calling him a friend one moment and then saying 'We all hated him' the next. He doesn't care about other people outside of his class and would crush anyone in his way. Argh, he's one of those 'I hate those dirty mudblood' type Slytherins! Thanks for reminding me! xD
