Yesterday on April 25th 2021, my cousin Peter and his wife Nikki had a beautiful baby girl named Rayna Maisie, who is proudly my new baby cousin. Peter is the son of my Aunt Kim, who wasn't available at the time of Rayna's birth. Aunt Andrea is acting as a "proxy grandma" until her sister Kim returns to see the "little ray of joy" for the first time. But Kim is beyond excited and proud to be a grandmother, as well as my Nan who is ecstatic to be a great-grandmother and have her great-granddaughter's middle name be her own first name.

I was inspired to draw Rayna after my friend Jonelle AKA Warm-Vibe drew a beautiful picture of her newborn baby sister Alexa, which prompted me to draw the newest and cutest member of the Spencer/Downer/Coles/Oxford family (my family has a lot of names). Ontario is a sweeter place to live with this little blossom being a part of it now. May she grow up to move mountains, soar skies, and chase rainbows!

If Poppy George was still here, he'd be exceptionally proud and no doubt the old Christian fart is looking down from Heaven smiling brightly and yelling at my Dad and Uncle Stephen to stop teasing Uncle James by calling him "Jimmy" (Poppy was THAT kind of guy). Not to mention females are quite rare in my family, with me and my cousins Isabelle, Julia, and Lauren being the only real granddaughters of the family. And Lauren and Julia are already well in their 20s and I'm technically a legal adult and will be turning 19 in June which is fast approaching. So the entire family welcomes little Rayna into this crazy world and here's hoping she makes it just that bit brighter.

Congratulations to her parents Peter and Nikki, her grandmother Kim, and her great-grandmother Maisie! Not to mention her amazingly awesome cousin Claire Aimée!
