The true identity of Kysras Dawnbreeze.

This is definitely my craziest character and the one I feel worst about in terms of story, after all, it sort of involves time travel and basically everything that deals with time travel sucks. Just look at Warlords of Draenor.

Anyways, she's actually a highborne that has spent millennia in stasis due to her err... time traveling. Her family sent her away as a very young child right before the Legion had first arrived in Azeroth, ultimately causing the sundering. Since there were so many portal and time mages around in Suramar, that's what gave me this idea, so it's not lore-breaking although it feels like a stretch.

Her hair in other art was blue because when she was sent through that (unstable and unsafe) time portal, it caused an anomaly in her that made her hair slowly attract mana. That's why in previous art her hair had pinkish highlights; it was not supposed to look normal.

In this picture her hair is white. By this time, she managed to sacrifice this ability in order to free herself, both figuratively and literally speaking. Before, she could only use arcane magic, and by having learned everything she knew by herself, along with her mentor staff, Aladris, it was all pretty intuitive and not very refined. Her raw, arcane excess made it much harder for her to learn other types of magic; she could barely freeze water and light a candle. This condition made her have a lot of potential for arcane, which was what drew Aladris to her, but it also smothered her other possible talents.

Kysras wasn't a fast learner. She was too inocent and young (in active years, at least...), and this eventually cost her mentor forsaking her, short after she discovers the truth about her family. There are lots of details involving how all of this happened, but alas, after freeing herself from her "blessing", throwing away perhaps the possibility of becoming a great archmage, she awakens to more possibilities and her new found passion guides her to the way of Fire magic. As a symbolic transition from her past centuries of ignorance and obsession to fulfill her potential as an arcane sorceress, Malyra cuts her hair short and proudly uses her birth name as she is reborn in white flames.
