I was spinning the dials for a pretty tall woman, and there's no scale per se...I may have gone overboard. Could also be the weird lighting?

The lighting is fine. I do like it actually because it gives the drapery in the background a nice optical effect.
I get the idea of a tall woman but somehow the physique seems, stretched .. the legs, particularly the shins looks like those of someone who has been starved like in a concentration camp.
That and if you look at the left hand, there is a weird dip from the first set of knuckles as the fingers go out making it look like the fingers are disjointed or popped out of their sockets.

Not sure the particular comparison you used for the shins is necessary.
I see what you mean about the hand...it's very fiddly to pose fingers naturally against something without them "going inside" it. If there's a way to stop that I haven't found it yet.
