another artwork, I forgot to add when I did that art dump, this one was fun to do, and the background was a beast, as I painted it instead of just finding an underwater scene to work with.I think Atem as a merman is quite a good concept and Yugi was fun to draw too

The design for Yuugi's diver outfit is wonderful. Atem does look very good as a Merman. The color for his tail works well for him. Makes me think Atem is bringing Yuugi to where his people are or to some special secret. Nice work.

Egyptian ruins have been found beneath the ocean, hundreds of miles from the country I believe. This AU is fully possible, but of course, we would need respirators for our terrestrial duelists like Yugi "Cinnamon Roll" Motoh is wearing here. Atem/Yami Yugi looks tantalizing with that black and fuchsia tail.

hahaha thanks, and yeah I know, I did research, I have a minor obsession with Ancient Egypt, especially after getting into Yu-Gi-Oh!, and I've read a couple of fanfics where this AU did happen, but its usually Yugi that's the merperson and not Atem, so I thought I'd switch it up a bit

Heck, I consider my liking Yugioh! as a kid unrelated to my Ancient Egypt fascination at that same time. And even still, it's hard to deny the visual similarities, especially in the final season when Yugi and company are transported to help Yami Yugi, in a momentous reversal of story structure. Yami/Atem has been carrying them through thick and thin for the majority of the series, and yet here, they have to help him with the original "Duel Monsters" game.
