Colie blushes like she has cherry blossoms in her cheeks-
the first signs of spring,

Her Italianate, moon-buffed skin puts my own Dane-peach to shame, and her voice rises-
lyrical as bird song.
Pale hands, like two doves, punctuate her words,
putting shape to incorporeal meaning.
She is small in stature, but perfectly fitted to stay by my side.

She has the shape of a Renaissance maiden, all curlicues and curves,
scrolled ivory work draped with deep teak twists.
She has half-moon eyes-
green like river stones-
cat's eyes that turn up when she smiles wide and bright,
and freckles that splash across her nose and cheeks
like errant drops of paint flicked from a brush.

Light pink rose petals curve into a smile that could outshine the sun,
And she glows and glows.
