As programs, never did Len nor Rin needed that particular ability to feel 'warmth'. What they only knew of is that -- as long as they are 'one', everything will be okay. Though they wonder what it feels like to be 'touched by a warm hand' -- they never once asked their Master to describe it to them. Young as they were, they made themselves believe that whatever 'warmth' is, is something magical -- something they'll never understand. The only thing they knew is that -- as long as those hands are connected, everything is going to be fine.

As soon as Len saw Rin being deleted, piece by piece disappearing before his very eyes, there was a lot of stabbing pain inside his chest -- something he never once encountered. He began questioning -- he began voicing out his thoughts. Why? His mind was in an eternal spiral. He never knew what 'pain' was. He never knew what to do to make it go away.

As soon as Len saw himself being deleted, he instantly knew what 'fear' was.

"I'm afraid. So ... afraid. Where are you?" Closing his eyes, he wept silently.

And then -- a familiar voice rang out within his narrowing world.

"I want you to remember me for I'll always remember you. We never understood what 'warmth' is -- but .. let this be our final sensation." Putting her forehead to Len's, Rin reached out his hand. "I've always wondered what 'warmth' is, Rin," Len whispered, "Will we ever know?"

Rin smiled. "Do we have to?"

Len was startled by Rin's smile. "Inspite all of this, you're still smiling?"

From within Rin's existence, she always knew of the one thing worth knowing and remembering -- the feeling of 'being whole' despite being turned into nothingness. For her, that was what their Master has been talking about all this time. "It's because you're here. You're here!" she whispered.

Pieces by pieces, they both disappear. Everything was engulfed by darkness.
