For the shadow lol... as I can see, some use the dark-brown, and others put the grey... It depends generally of the light orientation and the color of the environment. We need to observe some good digital paintings and old traditional oil paintings to know the way.
If you only draw the lines on paper n colore after on tablet... as the main job will be done by digital, then it will be digital
You know, even a bad drawing can be wonderful if it was colored by a great colorist 8)

ahh... i see so they also use grey... need to practice more... == i want to paint traditionaly.. but i got no paper that can handle water color... n here that kind of paper doesnt exist @_@ my country is suck lol
