More playing around but this time with watercolor and color pencil. Edited with Photoshop CS5, had to re-define some edges/add a little more contrast, etc.

i misunderstood when you said edit. i thought you meant that you combined 2 images. i have never used photoshop to 'touch up' before. only to make major modifications and to juxtapose pictures together. my mistake.
i faved your other paintings in this style. very nice.

the flower is lovely and quite delicate. at what point did you decide to juxtapose these together? did you encounter a problem at some point?

But yes, I did run into some issues while painting this - mostly with the bodice of the dress and the hair. I had a very clear idea of how I wanted the dress to look like, flowers and all but at one point the ink I applied at her waist (just wanting to add some more contrast) bled out...I did not realize the area right next to it was so wet until it was too late - usually I have some paper to blot on hand but not at the time.
This is actually the cropped version of the image, in the original she has her whole face/arm but it just didn't look right to me.
