Description
Taking a little break from the « Interrogation » series.I’ve been re-dreading a couple of ItaSaku fanfics and the deeper side of my affection for ItaSaku resurfaced and I felt like drawing a more emotionally-complex picture with these two.
I had no specific idea when starting this and here is the result.
I was surprised all through the process that I truly took my time on this drawing (not that I usually rush the others) but it felt like I was drawing in some sort of slow motion and serenity.
I kept listening to some H.I.M songs for inspiration and more specifically When love and death embrace.
There are multiple ways to interpret this picture so I’ll let you imagine the background story and the whole meaning.

You know, in the water Sakura's hair kinda looks like Sasuke's hair only pink lol :3 But I like the picture, it very dramatic and of course romantic!

Well there are so many that I can't remember all titles and stories.
My top 3 I go back to often are:
“Loophole” by Leafygirl
“Vespertine” and “Perception” by Cynchick.
But you might already know them...
I know a few years ago a fan site for ItaSaku did a classification of many good fics but I don't know if it's still there nor which site it is exactly. You can try and google it.

Beautiful picture... Your pictures always turn out wonderful. It's amazing that you can put so much detail into them. The water looks incredible on this picture, and the way he's sinking... Wow.

No, I didn’t sketch much for this drawing. I generally don’t sketch random ideas. I just open a blank page and start scratching a few lines.
For this picture in particular I just had the idea of Itachi falling and Sakura trying to catch him. I thought first of from a cliff and Sakura jumping after him or just on the edge of the cliff holding her hand out and grabbing him.
Then the idea of water became more appealing to me since I did want to give a certain sensation of dreamy-like levitation to soften Itachi’s fall. I gradually added some elements like the wound and blood, Sakura’s worried and yet determined and hopeful facial expression to give more depth to the picture.
I just patched it all up like this.

hrm... mebe Itachi first fell off a cliff and sakura jumped after him and then they fell into the water? o.o
*spoiler for if you watch Inuyasha*
It somehow reminds me of Inuyasha, the scene where Naraku tries killing kikyo by stabbing her with his tentacle-arm-thingy and she then falls backwards into a river filled with poisonous miasma o.o

Too bad no one dove in the water to save her, Itachi has Sakura
Oooh maybe someone lured Itachi to a cliff, then stabbed him (Sasuke with his electric-saber-thingy?), and he fell backwards off a cliff and Sakura saw it happen and jumped after him? O.O Maybe a new idea for a prequel of this wonderful piece of art? <3
