Yes, her outfit was a lot of fun! I was initially just going to draw her fishnet on, but then I realized I had that gold netting-patterned paper that would also work and got really excited about it, haha.

As to getting looser poses, I find that doing gesture drawings as a warmup helps! It's a good way to get a lot of drawings out quickly, and also helps tune your eye in to how to get the feel of a pose across efficiently without getting bogged down in too much detail too early on in the drawing.Β

Thank you! I guess when you get too concerned on anatomy & getting things right you loose that feeling of movement.
I'll try to be more loose and think of the detail later instead of agonizing early on. :3

Yeah, I've noticed that often when I feel like I'm drawing a pose too stiffly, it's because I rushed to the details without really pushing the gesture in the beginning of the sketch. And then I just keep hammering away at the pose, because dang it, I've already drawn all these details, I don't want to have to do that again! XD

He's on social media a lot, he really makes an effort to interact with his fans. I've met him in person a few times too, he's really nice. I gave him a drawing I'd done and he kissed me on the cheek, I nearly keeled over! XD

I don't know what I was thinking, he has worked with artists who are my heroes, and I gave him my lame drawing XD It was pretty awesome though, my feet didn't touch the ground for about a week afterwards!

They are part of a patterned paper, actually! I cut them out from the pattern and then added some extra details and some glitz to them.

Yeah, I enjoyed learning about them for this piece! I've been meaning to read these comics for a while now, so making this piece fired me up to actually get to that soon.

Well, they're my absolute favorites, so of course I'm biased, but I don't know anyone who didn't love them!
Be sure to read them chronologically though. The books are kind like their own episodes, but I just dived right in the middle of the story and was thoroughly confused.
