The background words say "WAR IS WAR" on repeat. This phrase is traditionally used as an excuse for extreme war time cruelty. It's essentially saying "war is meant to be cruel so that's what you get." Although Fisheye Placebo will be more about cyber warfare, I think the war time mentality can still apply and can cause extreme psychology damage to those involved.
Frey is silently playing the violin on the outside, but a war is ranging on the inside.

I've done this very kind of thing with the violin/viola - headphones and electric violin/viola + amp. Your graphic novel is certainly timely!
I'm reminded of Albert Einstein who also played the violin (but never an electric one that I know of). He was a fairly good violinist and would frequently pick up the instrument and practice . .Β . which helped him clear his mind especially when he was working through (thinking through) otherworldly challenges such as quantum physics and time-space. He purportedlyΒ had a great insight one day while working on a particularly tough problem. He had gotten to aΒ point and needed a breakthrough. So, he picked up his violin and began playing. Soon, something just popped into his mind: E=MCΒ².Β

My sister is writing a few stories (and working on a script for a game) where some of the characters use music to center themselves for hacking and sanity. I've always wondered why Frey wears headphones all the time, my idea is that his electric violin can be set so that he can listen to it through his headphones (kinda like how you can listen to your phone with headphones)

The electric violin looks amazing. I played it once, it was a different experience from your normal violin, just the sound and all was interesting. I miss playing that instrument.Β
I hope he has those headphones turned on the lowest volume though, electric violins can get pretty loud the more involved you are in Β playing the music and just ramming that bow down on those strings to the tempo. XD Unless you turn the volume down... I can't quite remember how electric violins work XD Can you do that? It's been awhile to say the least. Β War is war in the background.. huh, is he protesting against something, or taking his feelings out through music?Β
