Description I see with the eyes of the hunter
No one can escape
I am a devil of a gunman
For you it is too late
— Funker Vogt, Gunman —

From our Mage:the Ascension/Adventure! crossover, here's Angus "Trickshot" O'Donnell, or rather what's left of him... a.k.a what happens when an inspired human ends up Embraced by a Lasombra.

Our game began in 1920, when two young women, Amelia Matthews and Emmeline Brown, decided to open a private eye agency in Manhattan. Angus was one of the two bodyguards they hired a few months later: a lanky, silent, dark man with uncanny gunman abilities, who was suspected of having ties with the Irish side of the mafia in New York. Incidentally, his player had also given him a specific "Support" background, meaning he had access to resources from an organization (unknown from the rest of the group). Then yours truly started joking that all his lurking in the shadows meant he was a Ghoul of Clan Lasombra (hence the mysterious resources). Then Angus's player offered to Storytell a Mage/Adventure crossover set 7 years later, and made a NPC out of his character. Guess what? He kept my silly idea.

The story isn't a rosy one. In 1925, Angus decided to retire, and opened a restaurant (well, a speakeasy, rather) with his newly wed wife, Bianca. Unfortunately, him being Irish and her of Sicilian origin, tensions arose due to the presence of the two conflicting mafias, for some people didn't appreciate that marriage. While the rest of the team was away on a crazy mission to discover the tomb of the Queen of Sheba (which incidentally, they did), the speakeasy was attacked, and Angus and Bianca left for dead. A few months later, though, a mysterious character nicknamed 'The Shadow' appeared in NYC—a vigilante who mercilessly hunted down criminals. For some time, our private eyes wondered who it might be. Now they have their suspicions. And it seems that being Embraced did even less good to Angus than it usually does to regular humans, because he's not really... tangible... anymore.

Note: I wanted to try SAI, and although I'm not really at ease (yet!) with it for drawing my linearts, the Marker tool turned out to be very interesting to draw the background city landscape. It's basically a doodle done on the back of my own character sheet, but the Storyteller liked it, so I ended up inking it.

Adventure! and Mage: the Ascension are White Wolf RPG games.
The Shadow is of course a homage to the comics character with the same name.

AWESOME!!!

Hey, I also created a shadow man myself that reminds me of yours, may you see it. I'm just asking, if you don't want to.

cool character, I'm digging the solid black against the rendered backdrop graytones, It really adds to the whole intangible form he seems to be coming from

I have to thank his player for that. He described him so well during the game that basically, the whole idea came to my mind just like that.

THank you. The player described the char as "seeming made of shadows", so when I doodled it at first, I made a border around it, and ended up blending both.

Nope, but the guy who created this character probably did, I think. I'll have to ask him.

I'll try to watch it someday anyway. I just need to win over my natural reluctance to sit for more than 30 minutes straight in front of the TV.

I will pray for you. Try working out and watching a movie at the same time. I do that all the time.

That would be hard, given that I work out either at a gym or along the canal with my running shoes. ^^

Home push-ups, curl-ups, heel raises, etc... easy stuff. Buy gyms are funner, the canal sounds nice too!

Yeah, and doing home push-ups and stuff like that in a 20m² flat (well, even less than that, given that there's also furniture and tons of books in) is... neither convenient nor fun.

Really interesting work - and scary character (those eyes - brrrr :s). Love how you did the background too.

Where did you find Paint Tool?

I got SAI from here: [link] (link to the official site at the bottom of the page). It's a 31-days trial version, but given the product's price, buying the license wouldn't be such a sarcifice.

Well thank you. ^^ I'm not too satisfied myself, to be honest, but I guess you can't be too picky when you're using a piece of software for the first time!
