More Eon: Dragoneye Reborn Character Design Sketches. These are still really rough, and no where near where I hope to end up with them, but I'm liking the direction so far.

In the story, the Dragoneye's get their name and their power from communion with giant spirit dragons who give them the power to control natural disasters, like floods, earthquakes and storms. Each dragon in based on an animal of the zodiak, ox dragon, horse dragon, rat dragon, etc. Our hero(ine) is special because she can commune with the dragon-dragon aka The Mirror Dragon. the book describes the mirror dragon as twice as big as the others, the ruler of the twelve, scarlet red and cinnamon flavored. so far i'm just playing around with lionine and cat shapes, not least in part due to the old story about the cat not having a proper place in the zodiak (fruits baskets lol). plus, it's gotta look powerful and feminine, with a giant pearl on it's throat. more with her later.

next over is Lady Dela, the imperial MtF transvestite. because in Eon's world, it's a novelty when a man wants look like a woman, but a hanging offense when a woman wants to look like a man. Her signature shape is going to be the fan, i think, the way eona's is the oval/crescent. plus, more fun with androgynous facial features!

bottom left is lord brannon, former Tiger dragoneye. his shape is the pentagon with a sprinkling of diamond. but also he'll resemble his dragon's spirit animal. I have to redo him completely; upon rereading the book, I realized he's actually described as bald. oops.

the last images are centered on kygo, royal heir and master of "why cant i get him to look properly eighteen?" His shape will be the long rectangle with rounded edges, as befitting a tall upright young prince. His father the emperor is going to be a square with circles. i had to include the circles mostly because the book gives him a giant pearl sewn into the flesh of his throat, and i didnt want it to be lonely.
