Description just because I like wolves and warriors does NOT mean I'm a 12 year old, thank you
Saying only 12 yr olds like these things is like saying "You gotta be an immature kid to like those" No. Were not immature kids. And for the younger peoples (10-13) who like these, your not immature either!
It's ok to like WHATEVER you want
don't listen to the haters
they just cant appreciate a good book
or the majestic beauty of the wolves<3

Why do people judge maturity just because of someones interests? Seriously I though behavior was more important then what"cool" after you graduate school. Doctors aren't picked as good because they watched reruns of house rather then glee or something. Good stamp

YES. I hate all the people that say it's immature. I'm 15 and I read Warriors, love wolves, watch animated films. There's nothing wrong with it.

Anyway, people saying it's immature and 'for 12 year olds' is kind of insluting to anyone who actually is 12 or younger. You can read Warriors at any age. :3

I agree with BathedInSin. Plus, in all honesty, insisting that you're ~original~ and ~liked things before they were cool~ isn't much better than being 12 on the maturity level. Just saying.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zacaria-Lain In reply to context-fucker [2012-03-28 03:52:18 +0000 UTC]

I'm not trying to say I'm better. its not saying 12 year olds are bad, its insisting that just because i like them doesn't mean I'm 12, because some think if you like those things your a dumb little twelve year old. And no, the fan base is not all younger kids, and no its not bad to like these things even if you are younger. I just don't think people should automaticaly assume that because you like these things that your younger. I'll probably remake this with a clearer message. But I'm not sure how else to put it.

context-fucker In reply to Zacaria-Lain [2012-03-28 05:19:12 +0000 UTC]

...so what exactly is wrong with being 12, if you are "not saying 12 year olds are bad"?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zacaria-Lain In reply to context-fucker [2012-03-28 05:27:37 +0000 UTC]

Nothing is wrong with being 12. I'm saying that just because someone likes these things doesn't mean that they're immature or childish. Thats what it sounds like when people say "only 12 year olds like this and that". It's not immature or childish to like what you want to like. I'm defending three things here, wolves, warriors, and everyone who likes them.

Sorry for bothering you! Have a good Wednesday.

BathedInSin [2012-03-28 03:39:45 +0000 UTC]

....so you're saying 12 year olds can't like warrior and wolves, just because they like them? They have to be copying someone else? That seems like a mean generalization to me. You're basically judging them while telling people not to judge you. How is that fair?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

OpaquePencil In reply to BathedInSin [2012-03-28 03:45:38 +0000 UTC]

No, ~zachariathechessy is simply saying that having an obsession/fancy for Warriors or wolves doesn't mean it is a juvenile obsession/fancy to have. In no way did she say "and twelve year olds are dumb and shouldn't be allowed to like them" or in a different sense. My cousin is eleven and reads a ton. She is reading Warriors now and it definitely doesn't mean she is immature. I never read the series, she never copied me. So I agree with you in the tense that twelve yro. kids aren't (always) copying an older person when they read the series and draw wolves, but in no way, personally, was ~zachariathechessy saying that it was wrong. c:

BathedInSin In reply to OpaquePencil [2012-03-28 03:50:32 +0000 UTC]

I didnt say that he/she said "and twelve year olds are dumb and shouldn't be allowed to like them"

But the generality of 12 year olds liking warriors/wolves"ARE COPYING" is not true. As a generalization it's the same as saying "asians can't drive" or "white men can't jump". Maybe that's true for some, but not all. Plus it's fueling the stereotypes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OpaquePencil In reply to BathedInSin [2012-03-28 04:10:48 +0000 UTC]

I do understand that, and I am sorry for exaggerating.

And a twelve year old "copying" may not be the right kind of diction for the term, but replace is with a synonym would be that they look up to an other, and they'd like to "repeat" their actions by "copying". Yes, it is true for some, and I agree with you in that perspective. It is wrong to say that twelve year olds must copy to read the Warriors and draw wolves. And I am on neither of anyone's side, although I agree with you and in a way ~zachariathechessy . Let's leave it at that c:

Zacaria-Lain In reply to BathedInSin [2012-03-28 03:44:39 +0000 UTC]

I'm not judging them, no one should be judged for liking what they like, but a lot of people do just say they like it, or draw art for it because a lot of others do. I made this because of someone commenting on 12 year olds liking wolves and warriors and such. I made the stamp based on their words. I don't want to offend anyone and I'm sorry if it does offend anyone.

BathedInSin In reply to Zacaria-Lain [2012-03-28 03:48:39 +0000 UTC]

Just asking. It comes off very judgmental since you say "12 year olds are only copying".
I was 12 once, many a year ago. I wasn't into warriors, per se, but I was into wolves. Still am. But I do not draw them as much. But I didn't copy, unless I was drawing pokemon. Any and all 'warriors' and 'wolves' I made were from me and me alone.

I know a lot of mature 12 year olds that take art seriously, or as a hobby, and they do like those 2 things, among other topics. But i've also met some really immature little dweebs that think it's cool to steal someone else's design and call it theirs. For them, yah I agree. But in a general sense, nope.

Oh no I don't mean they literally copy their work. i mean they copy the Concept. Say I go to s page and said "Oh she draws big cats and has a lot of watchers, I'ma go draw big cats now" That is what I mean.Though I also am against those who copy others styles.

BathedInSin In reply to Zacaria-Lain [2012-03-28 03:59:31 +0000 UTC]

I hate people that do that. But i've seen people older than me doing that crap. I don't like 'heavy referencing' or tracing if you don't have permission from the owner first. I know a lot of people having that issue

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zacaria-Lain In reply to BathedInSin [2012-03-28 04:06:39 +0000 UTC]

How can they have pride in their work if it's not their own work?
I'll never understand it
If I feel I need to improve on something or other I'll go and look at some artist's work and see how they do it and I'll figure it out but i won't do it exactly like them. I add my own style.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BathedInSin In reply to Zacaria-Lain [2012-03-28 04:08:43 +0000 UTC]

I'll reference for specific parts... but usually I use myself for that LOL hands and feet and bending and such. But if i'm doing fanart i'll use reference images to base what i make... but tracing or outright stealing irks me.

Zacaria-Lain In reply to BathedInSin [2012-03-28 04:12:49 +0000 UTC]

It bothers me more when the artist LETS others steal their style and such.
That just encourages them to do it more.
I'm still perfecting my style so theres no chance of it being stolen
But it still puts out a bad name for others.

Omg yes, why must everyone judge?
Can't we all just like what we like?
If a lot of people like Warriors then it's cause it's a good book series
If a lot of people like Wolves it's cause they're beautiful creature
Not cause were not matured or some shiz
