I had this thought while listening to the Sabriel audio book, by Garth Nix (read by Tim Curry), that the Abhorsen series would totally work as a Studio Ghibli animated trilogy. I can't seem to get the notion out of my head.

Ghibli stories often center around a young girl and often deal with death, spirits, and magic...Ghilbi and Nix would be an amazing pairing! I'd still love to see a live-action set of films (in the vein of the LOTR films) but this would also make my hear soar.

So, unless my will gives out, I'm planning to do some rough paintings of the Abhorsen characters as they'd possibly look in the style of Studio Ghibli. In the mean time, someone send Miyazaki a copy of the series in Japanese, stat!
