Description I don't think I've ever drawn anything so technical before! My husband is working on starting a MechWarrior game which I've never played before and it's been inspiring me. The mech I chose to use is the Scorpion. I changed it a bit from the book design and was inspired by some of the miniatures I've seen online. I'm also showing off the other modifications that have been made.
Weaponry includes: 1 huge-arse gauss rifle and 2 lazer cannons. No jump jets or flight capability.
Peggy, the pilot/mechanic is shown also in the picture to help show scale.

Cool , this nearly looks like the robots for my story.
I trust to draw so ever.

I didn't know there were any quadrupedal ones. Are there any newer games?

Actually, this reminds me of a Bolo (from the stories about them) or an Ogre (from the Steve Jackson Games game).

Good work, and I like the "fiddley bits"--the ladder rungs, the access hatches, rivets on the feet...

I don't feel qualified to offer a proper critique, so I'll just stick to gushing a bit.

The design makes me think more Industrial Revolution than 31st Century, with the visible rivets on the feet and the way the cannons are assembled and installed. They look more like crew-served artillery and anti-personnel guns than huge slabs of weapon buried inside bigger slabs of armor, but it -works- with the rest of the aesthetic you have going. The prow of the hull looks like an old-fashioned cow-catcher (going back to the Industrial Revolution again), and the whole of the hull design makes me think a mad genius engineer was pointed at a small ironclad and told to make it go on land.

Below we've got the genius engineer herself, with hat and boots that make it look like she and her bot are hanging out in the ol' Wild, Wild West. The rear foot clamped down on the rock is a good touch: it illustrates the 'mech's agility as compared to something more ponderous like a Star Wars AT-AT or more traditional Battlemech design.

I like it. It's a cute sketch with a lot of implied potential for motion, and a 'mechanical' style that gets its point across without being studded with doodads and tons of extraneous detail.

Huzzah! I tried Photoshopping the books artwork of the Centurion that I am going to use. Didn't come out like I wanted. This is awesome.
