i tried to recreate J. C. Leyendecker's "Vacation" with sai. my best (only decent) painting yet.
needless to say, i'm very excited

this whole process was really taxing and i'm glad it turned out the way it did. i feel kinda like i don't get as much credit for the realistic stuff as i do for my fanart and comicky stuff, so it's a lot less rewarding even though i feel like it involves a lot mroe effort, so THANKS!! your comments mean a lott!

OOH LEYENDECKER. I love this! It's got such a lovely painterly quality. My favorites are the areas of dark brown, they're very simple but bold and suggestive.

YAY. i know, i love leyendecker, his stuff is so nuanced and natural

and yeah, i love how the darker areas came out, like around the eyes. (which are what i started colouring first)

still very short time if i doo something thats going to come out good i have to do like 5 hrs xD like that sweet lolita took me around 5 hrs and than towards the end i got lazy and was like blahhh xD hahaha
