zuid-afrikaans.....(or do you say suid-afrikaans?).Β I'm dutch, so I understand your translation. Although, now that I'm living in Switzerland, it's easy to translate in to "lake-cat"....

Well, the same would hold for me with suid-afrikaans. But in a written version I might be able to read it without problems. Now that I've been living in Switzerland for more than 26 years, my written dutch is not very perfect anymore. Especially the confusion between some dutch and german words....
Dutch = meer, in German = See, in english = lake, but there's also the dutch word = meer ==> english = more (german = mehr)
Dutch = zee, in German = Meer, in english = sea,Β quite logic isn't it?
but
Dutch = Noordzee, in German = Nordsee....
And now I find my own mistake: Meer-Kat(ze) from german to english should be sea-cat
I'm getting old I'm afraid....
