What if Papyrus didn't mix up the lunches and that was how it was supposed to be? I can just imagine Papyrus seeing Gaster more as a brother and Sans more as his father. Just imagine with me here, Sans could just be taking naps and that's all he sleeps. He could be gorging himself on food because Papyrus is worried about him not eating and so he takes it to the other extreme with junk food. Sans also likes to mess around with Papyrus it seems and could even see that as Sans being mean for no reason. With Gaster well, I'd assume that he would pass out at one point very suddenly at the very least. He also if we were to believe the top one was for him doesn't eat that much, but there is something that isn't a lot of food and most likely is unhealthy popato chisps in which are found in the lab. We also know that Sans HATES Gaster and just wants to annoy him, and so Papyrus would say that Sans does love him. (Sorry if this is annoying)

Papyrus complains about Sans "napping seven hours a night", and Zarla says that Sans sleeps too much.
Also, Papyrus calls Sans "brother" all the time.

Do you know what's missing from this dysfunctional family dynamic? A stern, yet loving mother/secondary father figure that doesn't take any crap from anybody & could stare down Cerberus & would walk through Hell itself. Knows exactly what his/her/their family needs & will MAKE them do it for the sake of their health even if it means knocking them unconscious to do so. Doesn't pull punches when someone needs to hear the truth in order to grow & develop as a person, but also isn't afraid to show their softer side & knows how to measure said punches so that they don’t utterly shatter a person… unless it’s absolutely needed…
Domestic, mild-mannered, sweet-tempered, witty, with a great sense of humor, benignant, & benevolent, but also sassy, sarcastic, logical, pragmatic, even vindictive, maybe a little manipulative if it means helping those around them, (but especially their family) become better, happier, & healthier, both as individuals & as a family or community, & when need be, can be as deadly as the reaper. Hopes for the best, but is more than prepared for the worst; a pleasant realist & a motivator with plenty of drive.

One needs to remember to sleep and eat, while the other needs to stay awake and limit his eating. One's a workaholic father, the other's a lazy brother. The writer is a concerned son and brother who just wants them to be happy and healthy. I think bring your kid to work day is in order...particularly for Sans and Gaster. Have them switch places for a day afterwards, and see what happens.
