Description
NO SUN is a conceptual top down soulslike/metroidvania project of mine, featuring a mix of spell and sword combat that sees the player weaving in and out of the fray to strike with weapons forged of their own manifested willpower and cast high motion flowing spells known as Dances. The ring of continental islands swirling through space known as the Storm of Stones have been plunged into a cruel harsh era of perpetual night after the death of the Hearth, the mysterious star that held the orbit of the Storm fixed and blessed the land with light, heat, life, and magic. The land of Raihaven was once among the most prosperous of the continental kingdoms, now a brutal wasteland of various factions vying for control of a long dead place. Can one pierce through the strife and suffering like a beam of sunlight, and use the dying glimmers of the Hearth that scattered across the isles to focus it anew?

Standard infantry soldiers of Raihaven, since reduced to scorched flesh and bone by the fraction of the dead sun that has found purchase in their flesh. Though once the vast armies of the continental kingdom were sent abroad, when Raihaven became embroiled in civil war, these warriors found themselves fighting in the warrens and pastures of their own homes against their fellow countrymen. Those of them that have been touched by a fragment of the Hearth have been gifted with endless reanimation at the foul price of their own's body integrity, and have with time returned to fighting, for it is all they know.

Standard "hollow soldier" equivalent enemy, obviously. Most incidentally similar to the DS1 guys especially due to the third degree burn direction I went on this one, resulting in a similar skin texture lol. Have many weapon loadouts and become quickly phased out once the late-earlygame is in full swing. Work strategically with other enemies with shared military affiliation, such as Charred Captains & Carcass Burners. Can be seen fighting insurgent or horizon enemies if they are ever stationed near one another.
