... And done.Y'know... I'm replaying FFVIII right now. I forgot how much of an emo brat Squall is. And Rinoa is pretty intolerable, too. I want it to just be Zell and Quistis. Squall is far more badass in KH.
Also... I have to keep reminding myself that Squall is 17. Awhuh?!
Anyhow... hope you dig my version of Squall.

This is a great post.
No shit Emo is a musical genre. And like most music genres it comes with a scene. That scene is comprised of "emo kids". Emo kids come with a pre-scripted behavior that conforms to their definition. Similarly Metalheads, Punks, Moon Stompers, Rap fans, Country music afficianados... they all have characteristics that are associated with them. Does it define EVERYONE in the category? No. That's what stereotypes are for. There is a reason why googling "emo kid" results in a thousand images of the same-looking kid.
I noticed you have a bit of a hard-on for Squall, so I can see why you're pissed. Learn to laugh a little and not take things so seriously. You won't have to take so much offense from a painting in the future.

Emo kids are depressed about life, whiny, and think that everything that happens in life is unfair. Squall rolls over and accepts that shit happens. Only, instead of living his life, he watches it pass him by, as he's scared that whatever happiness he finds will come to an end.
That's a pretty big difference, I think.

I don't think Squall is an emo brat in the least. He is self reliant, pretty much the opposite of an emo kid seeing as they all want attention. A lot of people make this generalization of him like this, but I think he is a much deeper character than that. He truly doesn't see the need for others most of the time, and you would really never find him crying. He gets angry at others stupidity a lot, but then again with characters like Selphie, Seifer D: *she bangs around on the control board >_<* I probably would too. Besides, you can make him nicer or less friendly >_> it's up to you.
