Description To pull the eastern leg of the AFT, Ross's first engine for the tour, Reading 2101, was painted red, white, and blue, and designated "America No. 1". It went through three paint schemes during the tour. The first was real simple, the second was a tad more complex, and the third, depicted here, was the most spectacular. It was also fitted with an auxiliary tender from a NYC Niagara. Later, it would go on to pull the Chessie Steam Special for the B&O's 150th Birthday.

And after three years of service under Ross Rowland, the engine was damaged in a roundhouse fire at Silver Grove, KY in 1979.
