Viva Dawn

• Method of Suicide
o Suffocation

• Background
o Viva was not always a musician. As a child, coming from a very educated family, she was heavily into dance, ballet, and the arts, attending Julliard for dance at the age of 16. She had much promise as a ballerina but the road to success was a long and arduous one. She began appearing in musicals and off-Broadway shows to supplement her income. She became a musician at the age of 21 after a New York music producer convinced her that she had a future as a recording artist. He offered her a recording contract on the spot after hearing her voice in her debut in the musical Rent. Faced with a rising cost of living and dance not quite covering it she reluctantly accepts his offer promising herself that it would only be for a year or so to get her by. She would then return to dance. She hit the big time with a hit pop single written for her by a great writer contracted by the producer and has had a string of successful singles since then, making a name for herself in pop culture in a relatively short period. Although she appreciated the success she looked forward to returning to dance.

• Suicide Scenario
o Throughout the entire time she was a successful pop star she maintained her abilities and contacts as a dancer with great success. The pop stardom was a brief vacation from dance. Once her music contract was up she was to sign on with the New York City Ballet. A great decision to sign with the producer, she thought. That is until her leg was broken on stage when the set collapsed under her, crushing it completely. She decided to take her own life when the doctors told her she would be lucky if she ever walked again and to forget about dancing. She was found dead in the studio slumped over her piano.
