Description He approached me out of the crowd of masked foreigners. Removing his mask only slightly he asked quietly:
"Are you doing alright?"
I looked up to give him a half truthful answer of "ok", but when I saw the expression on his face the words stopped in the middle of my throat. Struggling to satisfy his question I found myself hopelessly locked in his gaze. I had never seen that look in his eyes before. At that moment he looked so lonely, for the first time I saw behind his permanent mask.
I struggled "ye...yes, I.. im fine."
His expression did not change, but his eyes began to grow distant again like they have always been ever since I met him. He slowly put his mask back on and turned his head to look down where many feet had walked across the tile floor.
He replied softly"ok", his tone of unsatifaction left me wanting to say more... but I couldn't find the words.
He slowly turned and made his way back throught the conversating crowd, walking to his corner where he watched over my fathers corporation ball. I knew at that moment that being my body guard was not just a job for him anymore, there was something else keeping him here watching over me....
