Saw this movie couple days ago. I fell in love with it in first viewing. I loved it so much I went to see it again!The story, Direction, Camera shots, acting, the immersive feel and the dreamy feel, It all was beautiful.
Not to mention the score of the music was fantastic!
Even if people say that some of the things didn't make any sense or wouldn't have happened in real life. I appreciated this film as a piece of art. The brilliance in story telling through all most every senses made me inspired to paint this one night. This film will change the way I work and my goal as an artist.

LOVE IT!! Awesome artwork, totally agree with you about the film. Alfonso Cuarón is a brilliant director, he's great at world-building that feels so authentic (such a shame he turned down directing "Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them", he did so good with the third HP film...).
Kinda reminds me a bit of this one work by KR0NPR1NZ (since both of you have a similar style) but I like this one a bit more since she resembles Sandra Bullock so much. Really like how you incorporated the helmet's reflection as well. Great Job

At first viewing it looks like the predator in the helmet reflection. I love this film too, so symbolic

First off, I agree Gravity was a fantastic film, both visually and as a story. I really love this piece, but not just technically. This is one of the few times I've really seen raw emotion/feeling in someone's art. I can just imagine Ryan thinking, "How can something be so incredibly beautiful and absolutely terrifying at the same time?" I don't know if that was your intention, but I think its truly wonderful. By your caption it seems that you felt a need to paint this and for me it definitely reflected. I love that it's not fully polished/rendered, it doesn't seem like that was your intent. This painting struck me in a way art hasn't in a long time, and I'm really glad I found it.

Too many people try to pick it apart saying the story was crap, or things to that nature. To them, I say this:
When you go to a museum, you see many works of art. Do every one of those works have a deep narrative? Of course not. Some have a story, yes, but others are meant to elicit an emotional response, some to convey a message or deeper meaning, and others are meant to just be taken in and experienced.
Film is another artistic medium, and as such follows these same basic principles. Gravity is one such film that is simply meant to be taken in and experienced, and when approaches it without the "I need a deep challenging story" bias, it is a tremendous experience to be had. My only regret.... missing it in the theaters.

So what? Again, anything more than the basic character archetypes and situation would have only served as a distraction.
So you didn't like it, how about just saying "I didn't like it", rather than outlining reasons to basically say "this is why you should dislike it too" to people who DO enjoy it? Virtually any movie you can name is stereotype-ridden.

So here it is: I dont like it because of its stereotypes, the flat story AND everyone knows whats happening before it happens. Technique was great but nothing more.
