Description
Nocturne serves as the primary antagonist of the story. Nocturne was the first Darkrai to be created by Arceus and was stationed on New Moon Island alongside Cresselia on Full Moon Island over 100 years ago. Being the first Darkrai he is also the most powerful and well known, but like any other Darkrai he was cursed with the ability Bad Dreams. It is that fact alone that gives him his misunderstood place in society despite his legendary status. While on the other hand Cresselia are praised for keeping Darkrai in check by barring them from local interaction. This very concept pushed Nocturne to the edges of his sanity. He decided that if he is to be feared by commonplace Pokemon it should not be for his capability of providing nightmares but for his legendary might. In turn he intended to force his views upon everyone worldwide. Nocturne soon gained a group of "loyal" followers, Aziro and his brother Shade being the first due to their friendship. Nocturne eventually realizes that he does not want worldwide respect, but worldwide conquest. To do so he found a way to forcefully assimilate the minds of Pokemon with advanced bioengineering involving the usage of his Bad Dreams ability. By this point Nocturne has adopted a calm, and callous personality as he seemingly prioritizes the suffering of his enemies before accomplishing his goals. He is still searching for worthy candidates to join his cause before mounting an assault in force against the world. He views Dash as the most worthy among those he has found, he has yet to share his reasoning with his followers.
