Welcome back after the summer! How about something explosive to kick off September?
This is the first in a series of 'Blind Assassin' pieces built around the colour red (with a few oranges and yellows for good measure).
The character is from a forthcoming Rogue Trader game, so the design was inspired by Warhammer 40k assassins (mainly Death Cult assassins, who are all about the thigh-high boots).

Great Boots and Leather Costume. With the Fire and Darkness this could be the Gateway to Hell with the Awesome Character waiting for the new arrival of the Prisoners of Hell ready to line them up, put them in Chains and take the Prisoners deep into Hell.

My crew is largely adventurous, but we have a super creepy navigator

That sounds quite right for a navigator. But I have to ask: creepy in what way?

In the way the player does his voice.
"Mmmmmyyyyyyyy llllloooooorrrrrrdddddssssss" kind of way. Also he is in the rules a Mekator, where he can spill blood on a special map to see the warp better.
Other than that we have a pretty friendly crew, I am a Rogue Trader Blank (Drew my character actually, no where nice as yours), a possible Heretk tech priest, a Noble who is the scenschal (groups straight man.), a winged astropath, two priests (both pretty chill), a kriegsmen arch militant, and two Craftworld Eldar (Homebrew stuff).

In our first game, I played a Rogue Trader who discovered one of his crew had been reporting on his dynasty to the Inquisition, and eventually had to accept his Chief Enginseer was a heretek of towering proportions. By which time the Void Master had followed that dark path and been remade with extra limbs including a shock tail... I don't know where I went wrong. I really don't.
Next game was a bit less dramatic. I played an explorator who had a near-death experience and was subsequently convinced the God-Emperor was priming him to become the next Emperor of Mankind. You know, normal stuff. We had a couple of Tau aboard and some Kroot, which was fun. Things petered out when two of the players had babies.
This character is for a forthcoming game and I'm not sure quite what shape the party will take yet. This time, we'll be a small flotilla though, so we all get our own ships. Should be fun. ^^
I'm not sure why Fantasy Flight never got around to adding Eldar to the system. They were such an obvious choice for Rogue Trader in particular, and could have worked in Dark Heresy too. Maybe they were holding off to give them their own book, but they fumbled the relaunch of Dark Heresy 2 and it never happened? Anyway, homebrews are always good fun (so long as your GM has a good grip on keeping things fair and balanced for everyone).

But your character looks amazing, I always respect a person who puts effort into crafting their characters, and designing them to make them unique. Although an odd questions as I cannot figure out if this art depicts a man or a women - it sort of bugs me
To me it looks like a man, a very lithe, effemitive, but acrobatic man.
And the reason it all went south from what I hear is because Fantasy Flight had begun to expand their board game away from Warhammer Role Play. As a result they had begun to compete more directly with Games Workshop, who we all know are protective of their license and market, so they did not renew their contact with Fantasy Flight. Why we are getting Wrath and Glory soon: although I hear its not bad just not very good.

The FF versus GW situation makes sense. I was really disappointed with the V2 of Dark Heresy we eventually got, after members of the RPG community shouted FF into watering it down until it was barely any different to the original system. We now use a homebrew that's based on the beta V2, which had some really exciting ideas to make combat more fun (in particular).
Wrath and Glory looks strange. I'm suspicious about mixing power levels for a start!
Haha! Well, generally I would say that my art can be whatever folk want: male or female. This particular character is indeed what you suspect, though. You see right.

This is awesome! I love the fire, ember and smoke effects! The lighting looks so dramatic and threatening. And I love the design. Gotta love the classic red and black with the covered eyes for extra mystery.
