So my brother learnt the hard way to never underestimate the power of Ghibli.For those who aren't familiar with 'Grave Of The Fireflies', it's a very depressing yet moving film about the consequences of war- A boy and his younger sister lose their mother in an air raid and their father is serving in the navy so the two try and fight to survive on their own in the Japanese countryside.
I highly recommend it- though get your tissues at the ready!

In honest truth you'd have to have a HUGE heart made entirely out of stone completely covered in -100,000,000 bloak of ice to NOT shed a tear at this depressing yet powerful Film.

I just watched Grave of the fireflies and I don't normally cry during movies but I did this time... Ghibli is the best. My fave movie would be Totoro because I grew up to it.

oh god, I fell into that trap XD i saw the cover in HMV and was like "wow! looks cool, and it's Ghibli so it's gotta be supahFantastic!

And that is why one must always read the back of the dvd box before purchasing a film- no matter what the studio's reputation is~ pfff~~

I saw it recently and it was amazing- amazingly sad
I enjoyed it, the characters have life and Americans sometimes forget we weren't the only ones suffering. It's a good reminder.
