Considered to be the 5th ranking in the Whyrl's largest birds, the Slumberducks are known throughout the Whyrl as the sleepy ducklings that occupy the Slumberdark's lakeside ecology. As their name suggest, Slumberducks are gigantic bird of the anatidae family that hibernates on open still waters.

Even though slumberducks are generally not comfortable with approaching people while they are hibernating, the people in Slumberdark have devised a sort of way to not wake the sleeping behemoth (which is a form of sleep eye mask, a sleepy hat and even a teddy-cat) that they use them as flotilla to cross the lakes of Slumberdark. In fact, some family traditions revolve resolving one's differences through a midnight conversation on the back of a Slumberduck.

The King had once ordered for the Slumberducks to be opened as a tourist attraction to help the Whyrl's crumbling economy. However, no matter how 'exciting' it seemed to ride on a giant sleeping duck, most nobles and riches wouldn't risk crossing the pirate infested waters just to see this attraction.
