Attack for Lins

Okay so I couldn't sleep tonight and wanted to felt something nice and small, so... here we are.
I forgot so many things and I feel so bad about it but here's a little something: His whiskers are actual hair (mine!), not edited.

This bust is about 10cm tal and took me exactly 4 hours.

just to vent a little. in my opinion needle felting is just a literal copy of art into another medium and nothing special. i do this for fun and don't use my brain much, as i can do or think about things while dull stabbing. sure it's a lot of problem solving and skill involved but i think there's little to no creative process. however i love drawing and designing things and especially when characters are involved, i get emotionally and creatively invested. and sometimes i have the feeling i'm not good enough and unwanted for what i love to do because my needle felting is in any way, at any time stealing the show of literally everything else i do.

let me tell you short story. at my diploma exam i had to show 4 professors my animated music video on which i worked for 1 1/2 years and put my everything in it. i brought a felted (UNFINISISHED) felted model and it was laying on a table before them. guess what they were complementing me on while watching my DIPLOMA PROJECT. it was like 1 1/2 years of excrutiating work was wasted.

for me it's a constant struggle and i always get so sad when my felting gets all the love and attention in the world when it's really just time-consuming handicraft. i love drawing and i love felting, but i get a bit sad at times.
