Ryu
No surname yet, but, workin' on it still.

Ryu is a huge family man and a little awkward. He's going to grow up to be a mainly romance-geared author and a children's book illustrator.

At the minute, he's around his 20's and has moved from his home with Lazwyn and his little sibs to goes to college to get qualifications in Illustrative Art/Fine art, Language and English. He's good friends with Levi and Vinci, who go to the same college as him, and he meets Blue there too. Often comes home to visit on holidays.

He has a vast knowledge of languages, finding it fascinating and easy to learn. He's fluent in written and vocally in Manderin, Cantonese, English and Russian, while he's only conversational in Arabic and Latin, wanting to touch on them both later on when he's less busy. Hes much more comfortable reading those languages. Has a large interest in learning other Asian languages as well. He also knows some Sign language, but takes it more as a hobby then seriously - speaking without words is something he finds very cathartic at times. He can introduce himself and ask and understand basic things, as well as having a vague grasp on the alphabet, but thats all.

He's interested in History and Science as well, but only knows a base level of things he's read out of books when he was a child and up, as he didn't have much else to do jumping from foster home to foster home before he settled into the Lazwyn household - and even then, when he was getting used to a loving family environment. He's a huge, huge reader which is why he's come to be so interested in being a Writer. Making others feel as comforted by words and pictures as he was in those troubled times is his life goal.

After becoming friends with Blue, he adopts a small, second hobby of trying to learn what he can about plants a biology to join in with their excited conversation more then he currently is able to. He also becomes a huge LGBTQ+ ally and activist during this time as well, making sharp corrections if his close friend is misgendered or looked down upon around him. He's not very loud, but when he does participate in fundraisers or awareness campaigns, he's not one to be ignored.

His family mean everything to him and he will also adopt a subtly aggressive stance when they are insulted or thought bad of around him. His temper is icy and scathing when he does lose it

He has non-segmental vitiligo, but the patches on his face and neck are not symmetrical. It mainly effects the left side of his body in larger patches with smaller affected areas on his right. His scar was acquired from a car accident when he was small, making him squint subtly - corrective surgery has helped keep the damage minimal though, and he can see perfectly fine out of the effective eye

He is of Chinese/Egyptian decent, but did grow up in China - as a result he has a strong accent that he usually doesn't make obvious. As a child he would often talk in a garbled mix of Manderin and English and suffered with PTSD from past abuse until he was a teenager
