The Critique:
Dammit, why am I in the mood to critique everything today; even gay furry art?! *sigh* I guess we'll just have to deal with that curse and ask for God's forgiveness later....
Anyway, that was light humor; though I am wondering to myself why I clicked on this. Probably because it looked alright and it actually looks like good art work and I stumbled upon your flash animation and was wondering what your other stuff was like. (/end sucking up.) I will try to keep this critique as serious as possible to help in anyway, but I will most likely fail because I feel like I'm on a sugar high as I'm typing this. I will keep looking at this with a mind as just something for art. I.E. "art for art" and its beauty.
For one, it's gay! No, not gay as in gay; gay as in happy. (Though it is gay.) The colors are all vibrant and nice, and the background is just lovely. I give the entire technique of this piece 4.5 stars. I mainly don't give it 5 stars because I have a personal taste on why the guy on the left has so much color on him. It's just odd in my opinion. (Then again, I am looking at gay furry art, so what's new with that?)
I can't really say on impact too much because I just can't say I am gay or furry. I mean, THIS looks like it would turn someone on or just in general look pretty, but I can't say anything on impact without going into biases and making this critique just awful.
Vision and Originality were overall five stars in my opinion just because of the character's expressions, movement, and the entire scene altogether.
Overall, it was an alright piece and am surprised how well drawn it is just considering its subject matter. (again, that's a bias.) I can't say it's cute, though I can say it's well depicted. I can't say it's sexy, but I can say your drew your characters well. this is a generally nice piece, and I think it's probably amazing for its subjected audience.
Hey, if you got someone who isn't a furry to look at this then you're doing something right.

Forgot to mention, the orange tint that permeates the entire piece was a real nice touch.

This is a really well done piece and it touches my heart deeply. I really love how the background has a soft orange tint to it letting you know its sunset. My only real problem with this is the blending of the fur color around the legs and arms. It sorta looks like they're wearing socks and gloves and it throws me off a wee bit. Maybe have the colors blend together a bit more so it look natural, but if that was the look you were going for it looks decent. Overall its cute, well drawn, and makes me think of my boyfriend ^.^ Good job!

I don't really like furries, but how can you kill something with fire, when they are already a pair of flamers? A cold shower?
Note-Just a humorous comment, I am not homophobic (that would be pretty difficult seeing as I am gay), I wouldnt really say I was furphobic either, I just REALLY, REALLY don't see the point of it. I would be far more interested in biologically plausible anthros than pseudo-human, gaudily colored fandom art.

I guess I would prefer werebeasts then, which are essentially humanoid body frames with assloads of animal, muscle, teeth, and animal features on the top. What do you call a humanoid that is more animal than human? I would be reluctant to call furry/anthro style humanoids predominately animal, seeing as their bodies are clearly human, but with feet/tail/head/fur.
I mean biologically plausible by evolutionary standards, like a pig humanoid that has 8-10 breasts, or a tapir humanoid that has a tapir's genitals (that is, strangely shaped and enormous), and no breasts on reptiles, or humanoid torsos. And why no anthros of apes? Too much uncanny valley?
I understand the point of drawing *anthros* heck, its obviously lots of fun. What I mean is the point of the furry-style sexual/fetish application of animaloid features, I just dont understand that from a fetish point of view.
I'll give you an example, I'm a macro, apparently macros have fantasies about giants because they have poor self esteem, and the point is to relinquish control or gain it, in a more idealised sexual fantasy. But what *possible* benefit does adding animal features to a sexual figure do? With macro, it's clearly about there simply being more control or just plain more body figure to admire.
I understand an affinity/passion for nature and the animal world, I'm a huge zoology/paleontology/evolution nerd myself, but I would never entertain the sexual fantasy of being or being with an animal/manimal, because I recognise the clear line bewteen man and animal, the distinctness of each species etc (I know humans technically are animal, though). My love for nature is platonic, ho do some people see the need for more than just that? I'm pretty sure there are many furries that don't have that great a knowledge about actual animals, either.
