I don't know... I like both versions but the marker one is more tangible and dirty while the other one is more clean. And I think his expression is different even though the basis is the same. And I do not totally suck with drawn backgrounds

I thought both backgrounds looked fine! Personally, with the message that he's got this smirk on his face and that personality, I quite like the textured feel of the markers. It conveys the theme well, and the digital one shows up much cleaner with more of that balanced colour. There's no limitation to colour choices and it shows up very well and definitely more defined.
I'd say both of them are great, but the insight observed is even greater
