Description Meet my baby girl Siri!

I adopted her 4 years ago and one of the best decisions of my life. She’s the older little sister to Odin!

I never adopted a dog from the shelter until her, I’m weary about adopting an adult dog as no one knows the history of their upbringing.
But I was able to adopt this amazing dog.
Siri came into my life as I left an abusive relationship. I was looking for a new dog since my first dog Magnum was getting older and living with my folks. I was scrolling through shelters, I messaged an amazing gal who ran a shelter and I told her what I was looking for and she sent me siris picture. She had just arrived two weeks before I messaged and I fell in love. I could tell she’s been through alot and was preparing myself. I asked if I could meet her for a couple days and see how that goes.
I drove the 4hr trip to her and the first meet was intense for her. She tried everything in her power to escape the handlers arms. I sat on the floor held the end of her leash and played the waiting game. An hour went by and this little skin and bone came over and crawled into my lap. I calmly and quietly talked to her and petted her back and chest (never the head, there’s a reason for that) and started to learn siris back story.
It’s not pleasant.
Siri first off never had a name, so I got the luxury to name her. But Siri was picked up along the interstate and she was already a mess. Doesn’t end there, she was already skin and bone upon her being picked up and then stopped eating altogether. She showed further signs of abuse from the handlers husband. On her left hind leg is a circle of a scar that we all suspected is from a car cigarette burner.
I was heart broken and did feel bad. But I told her she was ok now.
The second day she actually walked in herself next to the handler and pulled her way to me. She remembered me🖤 I knew from then on she was my girl.
I adopted her and that weekend in January 13 I brought her home. The day I picked her up she cried in excitement to see me from her carrier, she was let out and jumped into my arms kissing me.
Match made in heaven.
Since then Siri has blossomed into a dog I am proud to witness. She has her days where she falls back into her anxiety but who doesn’t?? I do. So in those moments I tell her it’s ok and there for her. It took 4 months for her to finally warm up to the men in my family.
Siri doesn’t have an ounce of meanness in her. The only time she bares her teeth is when other dogs even in the family invade her space way too fast.

Now why the name Siri? Siri is an old Norwegian name that is like a nick name from the Valkyrie Sigurd meaning beautiful victory’
Boy that name couldn’t be more fitting. I’m her own amazing way she is victorious in her own special way.
More and more she has become a dog. And acts like a dog.
She never knew how to play, or what a toy was. She never got to do things a dog should do. Yeah her story is sad but I don’t let that define her. We are in the present and live in the moment. I guided her to becoming a dog.

Siri is my world and my everything
Odin is my pride, while Siri is my joy.

I don’t know exactly how old she is but I presume around 8years.

For being a chihuahua I do get a lot of asked stigmatized questions and while it irritates me the simple answer is no. No Siri is not like any chihuahua. This is a dog who asks permission for everything, and I mean everything. She rather run away cause she’s scared than anything else. Unless I’m around Siri will not engage with new people. Siri trusts me and my judgement and Knows I won’t let anything bad happen to her. And I think the thing that gets my gears rolling the most is when she’s treated like the app or if I named her after the app. So I’m gonna be aggressive about this; do not tease my dog or think for one minute she’s named after some dumb phone app cause she’s not!!!

Siri and Odin together is an amazing sight. She definitely owns him and he lets her lol. Best hiking partners and the best dogs. Both of my dogs are perfect. They are my children and I don’t see them any other way.
