Female Thor seems to an excellent adversary.

I did notice you made an homage to the rock aliens Thor fights early in the comics. One of the original crew rebels with Hulk in 'Planet Hulk'. It's fun seeing those guys get a warm wink by a brilliant artist. Like I said, your stuff is great: it's the character attached to it that I mind.

Why is there a Female Thor? Beta Ray Bill didn't become Thor when he wielded the hammer. Neither did Cap or anyone else: so why the politically charged middle finger to Thor's continuity?Β
Β What pisses me off most about this character is it's such a sleazy way to empower women: there are literal dozens of amazing goddesses in Norse mythology, so why not use one of them!? What was Lady Sif or Valkyrie? Practice?Β
Β No disrespect to your art: that's superb, but...this run flies in the face of Thor canon; and for what? A "strong" female character in a universe literally populated by them? Storm, Kitty Pride, Rogue, Black Cat, Electra, Psylock, Black Widow, X-23, Princess Powerful, She-Hulk--what, did none of these characters count? What is Lady Thor saying that hasn't been said before and better? It's just pandering.

Because the Odinson was stripped of his title, so Mjolnir found someone more worthy in Jane Foster.

Β The Odinson's name is Thor. You can't just strip someone of their name, that's silly. When anyone else has picked up the hammer, including Red-Hulk, Captain America and Superman, Thor has always been Thor. It's lazy writing, plain and simple; and worse it's lazy writing trying to politically weaponize itself. I got through the first few pages of the first comic and tuned out completely; because it was humorless feminism-driven garbage. Thor's name isn't his title, it's his name. That's not just Marvel canon, that's the most cursory of details of Norse mythology. Odinson is just a variation like Man of Steel or Man of Tomorrow are titles for Superman.Β
Β Besides that...Jan Foster? Really? Nnnnot anyone else? Jan Foster? Not Kitty Pryde who saved the entire planet in 'Extraordinary X-men' by Joss Whedon? Not Spiderman who stood up to Iron Man during the Civil War, denouncing the Registration act? Who himself has saved the world countless times? Really? No one else? Fuck, what about Beta Ray Bill!? He was worthy to wield the hammer, he's one of the oldest alternative users: wwwwouldn't it make perfect sense for the hammer to go to him? He already has one copy of mjolnir already. Continuity wise it's not just, frankly, a mean-spirited piece of SJW propaganda, it's just a bad idea period.Β

Cry me a river. Odinson blew it, he's not Thor anymore.

That's not how being Thor works! It's never been how it works! Ever! You don't lose your fucking birth name when you cease being a super hero. That would be like Steve Rogers losing his name if he passed the shield to someone else. It's ridiculous shit writing.Β
Β She's "Thor", the same way Spiderman really sold his marriage to the Devil. She's a cringe-worthy aberration that's going to be politely shuffled under the rug and, rightfully, forgotten. Honestly, why didn't Jason Aaron just have VALKYRIE pick up the damn hammer and go around being supercharged? What's worse is the brazen flippancy of it all. 'No. I have your name now! We've never done this ever in your canon; and, of course, it would be outrageous if the genders Β were reversed, but, fuck it!' Β Β

Yeah, it's not like Odin ever took Thor's name away before when he proved unworthy of holding Mjolnir.

No, he never did. Donald Blake is a different guy than Thor. Thor is an individual, not a title and a bag of tricks.Β
