I recommend the book Remembering the Kanji. It helped me a lot

Although I'm currently not taking Japanese classes right now, I love hiragana. I can already read it since I was 10 but only now I began reading Japanese. I can even sing a J-pop karaoke with only kana on screen (Kanji have Furigana on top)

I just finnished learning hiragana a few days ago. I am now currently skipping the katakana and going straight to the kanji. After a little thinking, I decided that if it weren't for the hard kanji, Japanese would be one of the easiest languages to learn.

I'm starting to learn it, and it's going well so far. Although after this, I think I might try to learn Devanฤgarฤซ because I also have an interest in Hindi. Every time I try to seriously considering learning how to read Japanese, the Kanji frightens me!

I know Hiragana, eventhough I think Katakana is easier and I'm done with the 1st Grade Kanji, now studying the 2nd Grade kanji ^^
