Pokémon belong to Nintendo and all that jazz. The drawing is mine, don't use it without permission. Y'know, the usual.Anyway, canine pokémon yay :3
Species hunted down for image references: Siberian samojede (or so I think it's called, but either way big thanks to T,K for finding a good pic of one), jackal, wolf, beagle, doberman, hyena and german shepherd (bizarrely crossed for the Mightyena), hokkaido fox, bulldog.
This was fun~ And first thing I've drawn after a pretty solid art block^^
The Granbull wouldn't fit in the composition of the crowd, so I just shoved it into the corner. Also, notice how many of them have red eyes? O.o Imagine them staaaaaarring at you~
Now to design an outfit for the villain for the 'Roar Is Not A Social Skill' setting who trains a team of these critters...

Absol is not a canine, it`s a feline(cat).

Absol isn't just a feline, it's a Bai Ze, a Chinese man-faced creature tha can have the body of a feline or bovine, and knows everything. It appeared to warn people of an oncoming plague, which would hae been a disaster.

I thought Ninetales was a fox pokemon? (are foxes realeted to dogs? I seriously wouldn't know.. I love Houndoom ^^

Foxes are vulpines, which are as far as I know is a subfamily of Canidae.
Vulpines can be called canines, but not all canines are vulpines, something like that.

Cool. I always love to see interpurtations of pokemon. Its always interesting to see how some differ from mine. Like smeargle I see as a lemur. But I love how you drew him as a dog.

In my mind I thought Lucaio looked a bit more like a kangaroo than a dog. If I were to choose a specific animal
