I experienced something like this recently, where I felt really betrayed and upset with the people I trust. I thought about just painting how I feel, and it showed in the process of making it. Originally, she was supposed to have an angry expression and demon horns instead of a halo. I continued working on that while experiencing that anger, but it eventually died down, which translated into the painting. As my feelings subsided, her expression also softened and I replaced her horns with a halo. She was no longer feeling angry, just heavily disappointed and just trying to come in terms with it. I painted her as a knight because I wanted to express the emotions of a warrior who was betrayed by who she was fighting for.

I had a ton of things I needed to do first, but I knew I won’t be able to sleep well if I don’t paint this >< I hope my intentions translated well to the artwork. ^^
