# About me

I consider this deviant account more of an archive of my art as opposed to a current portfolio. I mean there is stuff here from highschool. Gross.

Matthew J Burgos is an artist who spent his childhood on the U.S. east coast, formative years in the southwest and has returned to the east for photographic work.
Photography is his main skill set. Specializing in collegiate life, higher-ed research, event, and editorial. He prefers field over studio.
Matthew also specializes in pastel, colored pencil, and ink. His visuals bring up ideas of neo-expressionism and pop punk art styles. Often employing technological and naturalist elements in bright contrasting scenarios.
A few of his major influences would be Michael Crichton (novelist), Gene Roddenberry (television), Brett Parson (illustrator), just to name a few of many.

I highly value music, our environment, history, knowledge, criticism, and the yearn to learn. On the reverse, I am highly critical of religion, reckless authority, ignorance, and greed.
